EU Customer Information

IMPORTANT EU TARIFF INFORMATION

Starting July 1st, orders being imported into an EU country will incur an automatic 3€ per line item and Country of Origin within a shipment.

Previously, this fee was only applied to items that were 150€ or more. Moving forward, small parcels valued at less than 150€ that are imported into the EU will be subject to a fixed 3€ customs duty.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR YOU?

Any orders placed prior to July 1st will incur this new duty once your order is received by your Country’s Customs Department. Unfortunately, the package will not be released for delivery until you pay this fee. Because the order was placed through our website prior to this new regulation being enacted, the duties and fees were not calculated at checkout or paid in advance.

Good news though – all of our books come from the same Country of Origin and also have the same HS Codes. This means that if you have a Combo Subscription with us, you will only be charged 3€ customs duty and not 6€ for the two books in the package. The same thing goes for any of our OPUS orders. There may be other fees that are due by your Customs Department, such as any possible VAT and handling fees, however, these are fees that we are unable to calculate and are dependent on each country.

OPTIONS
We do have two options for you to choose from, so please read carefully.

1. Keep your order(s) and once it’s shipped you will then be responsible for the duties payment in order to receive your package.

If you choose this option, you are all set and do not need to fill out the Withdrawal Form. You will be responsible for any duties/fees once your package is shipped. However, if we see that the package was returned due to fees not being paid by the receiver, then your order will not qualify for a refund. Additionally, if we see this same issue and you request for the package to be reshipped back to you, then a reshipping fee will be applied.

2. All EU Customers have the option to request a full refund for any order(s) that have been placed prior to July 1st. Under EU consumer protection law, customers who purchased goods or services online have the right to cancel their purchase without giving a reason during this 14-day period, commonly known as the cooling-off period.

The form will close on July 1st, so please be sure to fill this out during the cooling-off period if you want to cancel your order(s)!

If you choose this option, please fill out the Withdrawal Form attached at the bottom. Once you fill out the form you will receive a confirmation email and our Team will cancel and process the refund for your order if that is what is requested.

MOVING FORWARD

We are working to implement a few changes for our EU customers when they get to the checkout page! After July 1st, all EU Customers will see that their orders will now include the estimated cost of the duties and taxes when checking out. This information will be shown on your invoice/shipping label when your pre-order is received and ready to be shipped out. This will inform your country that the 3€ duty has already been applied and collected!

Please note that France and Romania will have some added country-level fees, such as handling fees, that we will not be able to calculate at checkout. These fees will be due when your package arrives at customs. Additionally, it appears that Italy and Netherlands will be following suit, but that information will be released by these countries at a later date.

PAST ITEMS SALE
We are working to have this system in place during our June Past Items Sale. However, it’s a new system that we are still working to get into place prior to July 1st. If you make any purchases from our Archives Shop during the June Past Items Sale and you do not see the duties and taxes being applied to your order prior to checkout, then you will have to pay these fees once your order is shipped out and received by your country.

We can confirm that the system will be in place for the July Past Items Sale.
